In 2014, Greg retired from the United States Navy and the Ray’s sold everything and moved with their three daughters to the Middle East.
Within a year, millions of refugees found their way to the country where they lived, and Greg & Kari began welcoming and engaging refugee families through the simple act of cooking together… that’s when My Ethnic Table was born!
The dinner table, or really any place where people gather to eat or drink, is a place of welcome, acceptance and blessing. It is a place where the refugee, the immigrant, those on the margins and the ones who are overlooked can come and be seen and be restored.
Greg & Kari are passionate about bringing delicious ethnic recipes inspired by the culinary traditions of people far and wide to dinner tables around the world. Along the way they seek to raise awareness of the global refugee crisis and empower immigrants and refugees through education and livelihood development programs.
